As part of the under graduate and post graduate programs in English Literature or any Literature the students will be asked to undertake a research project and then write a report on the same.

The confusion begins with  what book to select, what topic to to select, what aspect to focus and so on.

The broader the reading habits are easy to pick up books, topics and focal points. I have come across some literature students who haven't even finished a full novel in reading. In some cultures and cases students are forced to pick up subjects they don't have an inclination to.

Any way for those who are looking for a fresh start, Here are some ideas to fix your project topics and start writing.

You can choose a general area of approach, ie, argumentative, persuasive or critical perspectives, which you are good at.

Then go for a suitable topic like gender, comparison of novels, political inclinations, religious perspectives, historical importance, literary theories etc.

According to these, you can select novels/essays/poetry etc required for your Project work.
